‘Nope, never said this’: Barbie Imperial calls out ex Diego Loyzaga for saying they resolved past cheating rumors
Diego Loyzaga's recent interview saying he had cleared up cheating rumors with his ex-girlfriend Barbie Imperial has caught the ire of the actress.
In an interview during RX 93.1's All Out segment, the actor shared that he did not cheat on Barbie, and that there was no overlap between his new relationship with Pinoy Big Brother housemate, Franki Russell.
Diego and Barbie confirmed their breakup in February of 2022 after more than a year of dating. This June, Diego revealed that he was exclusively dating Franki.
“Nothing ever happened between me and [Franki] like that," Diego shared. "I can happily sit on this chair and say I never cheated on Barbie. She knows that."
Meanwhile, Diego said that he and Barbie had met up in a club two weeks prior to the interview and talked about the cheating allegations surrounding him.
"I said to her: 'Bie, after everything we went through you really do know that I never cheated on you' and she said, 'Diegs, yeah. I know, I know.'
He pressed on to Barbie: "Despite all the stories are you sure you believed me when I say I never cheated on you? ‘Cause I hear stories that you believed that. And she said, 'No Diegs, I know'."
"My friends know that, all my closest friends in the industry know I never [cheated], but it is what it is," Diego concluded.
Shortly after the interview, Barbie took to Instagram Stories to clarify the events Diego told were untrue.
"I never said this," Barbie wrote along with a screenshot of the radio interview.
"Never said anything bad after the breakup. But I think telling people I said something I didn’t say is foul," she continued.
In the same interview, Diego said that they had broken up by December of 2021 but only revealed it by February. The two had remained on good terms after the split, regularly commenting on each other's Instagram posts as friends.
Meanwhile, Diego also shared that he and Franki are "exclusively dating" but not boyfriend-girlfriend official just yet.
