After Twitter rant vs. Sal Panelo, Sharon Cuneta wants 'good vibes only' from now on
After her explosive rant on Twitter against senatorial aspirant Salvador Panelo, Sharon Cuneta said she wants "good vibes only" from now on.
Cuneta on March 10 took Panelo to task after a video showed him singing Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas during Sara Duterte-Carpio's event in Quezon City. She said that Panelo didn't ask for her permission to sing it and launched a salvo of tweets against him for supposedly ruining her song.
She also addressed the matter on Instagram, reiterating that the Duterte-Carpio camp cannot use their song and they shouldn't mess with a classic that's her song.
The "Megastar," however, has already deleted the Instagram post in question, though all of her tweets about Panelo's singing are still intact.
She appears to be in good spirits already, as she posted on March 12 a text image that read, "From now, on GOOD VIBES ONLY!!!" followed by three sparkling heart emojis.
Cuneta captioned the post with mere emojis of smiling faces, sparkling hearts, hugs, and faces with hearts.
In her succeeding Instagram posts, Cuneta has shared photos of scenes from the campaign of Leni Robredo. She has openly expressed her support for Robredo whose running mate is, of course, her husband Kiko Pangilinan.
She also shared a text image of a bible verse in a pink background. Robredo has used the color pink for her candidacy.
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world," the post read, quoting a passage from the New International Version of the Bible.
Panelo, meanwhile, caught wind of Cuneta's "good vibes only" post, saying he agrees with "Shawie" followed by a praise emoji.
The self-proclaimed "Sharonian," or Cuneta's fan, has also since defended his move to sing her hit, saying he doesn't understand "what's so offensive about that."
"I’m sorry she feels that way," Panelo said in a statement March 11. "It’s one of my favorite songs because it reminds me of the great lengths I took to care for my late son, Carlo who had Down Syndrome. I honor him each time I sing the song," adding that by doing so, he thought he's also paying homage to its composer, the late Willy Cruz, "and of course, to Ms. Sharon Cuneta."
The former palace spokesman said he also reached out to Viva Records, the track's copyright owner, and "confirmed" that he has permission to sing Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.
