LJ Reyes and Philip Evangelista exchanged "I Do's" in an intimate garden wedding in the United States.
Months after announcing their engagement on social media, the two got married on Sunday, Oct. 8 (Philippine time) at The Bevin House in New York. Their special day was also streamed live for their nearest and dearest who weren't able to fly to the US to celebrate the couple's love in person.
While only a few photos and videos have been shared online as of writing, there were some details from their lovely wedding that easily caught our eye.
LJ's bridal look
LJ walked down the aisle in a white bridal gown with a sweetheart neckline. She matched it with a low bun by her hairstylist Mark Baquiran and simple makeup by Mikka Marcaida.
In a chat with PhilSTAR L!fe, Marcaida said LJ wanted to keep her look "clean and classic" for her wedding, so they opted to stick with neutral tones "and nothing dramatic."
"I chose to focus on her skin and her inner bridal glow on the day because we're aiming to be timeless, something she can look back on with glee after 30 years and so," she added.
Wedding venue
LJ and Philip had their wedding at The Bevin House, which is a Victorian mansion overlooking the lake. Their New York-based event designer Ivie Joy adorned their chosen destination with a lot of flowers in white and pastel peach, which complemented the couple's neutral fits.
Wedding cake
The couple opted for a simple wedding cake with a timeless touch. The three-layer dessert was prettified with an arrangement of big and tiny flowers on one side.
Wedding dance
As seen in videos posted by one of their guests, LJ and Philip entertained their relatives with a romantic yet playful dance during their wedding reception. We love how LJ kept things fun with a twirl on the dance floor as well as loving embraces with the love of her life in between.
LJ's children
LJ's children Aki (with Paulo Avelino) and Summer (with Paolo Contis) were also there to witness their mom start her happily ever after with Philip. They looked absolutely adorable in their wedding attires, also in neutral hues.
The Kapuso star announced her engagement to Philip in May, quoting the bible verse of Jeremiah 29:11 NLT in the caption. "’For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’"
She and her kids moved to New York in September 2021 following her controversial breakup with Contis after a six-year relationship.
