Gong Hyo Jin and Kevin Oh to tie the knot in October

South Korean actress Gong Hyo-Jin and singer-songwriter Kevin Oh are confirmed to be getting married in October in a private ceremony in New York.  

The actress’ agency, Management SOOP, released a statement on Aug. 17 through various media outlets including Soompi. 

"Hello. This is Management SOOP. We would like to share news about actress Gong Hyo Jin," the statement read. "Gong Hyo Jin and Kevin Oh will be starting a new chapter of lives together. As it is what the two wish for, they will be holding their wedding privately in October with only their close relatives and acquaintances present."

"We ask for your generous understanding on not being able to share the detailed schedule and location," the agency continued. "Please send a lot of blessings and support to the couple's days ahead as they take a valuable first step forward in their lives."

Meanwhile, the Korean-American singer shared a snap on Instagram of a music sheet containing the song he wrote for his soon-to-be wife. Along with this are his remarks about his upcoming marriage to Hyo-Jin whom he described as his “best friend for life, soulmate, and soon, his wife”.  

Kevin said, "Two years ago, I met a girl. Our love was full—yes, daunting at times—but we proved to each other.. that we need each other. In her, I've met my best friend for life, my soulmate. And soon, I'll be able to call her my wife."

The singer also revealed that he wants their wedding to be intimate in his hometown, which is New York.  

"This fall, we will be getting married quietly in my hometown... Perhaps it would be more fitting to hold the ceremony publicly here in Seoul. But for selfish reasons, I wanted to celebrate in the presence of my family. Hope you understand," he continued.

The 31-year-old singer also told his fans that he is "preparing some new music" that he hopes to share with them soon and said that the coming days is"a new start" to both his life and music.

Kevin, 31, and Hyo-Jin, 42, were confirmed to be dating in April this year. The actress starred in hit K-dramas, including It's Okay, That's Love, Master's Son, The Greatest Love, and more. The singer, meanwhile, performed the original soundtracks of Chicago Typewriter, More Than Friends, and Snowdrop, among others.
