Claudine Barretto sends love to former partner Rico Yan for his 47th birthday
Claudine Barretto is still sending love to Rico Yan after all these years.
The 42-year-old actress took to Instagram to express her well wishes to her former co-star and partner for his 47th birthday today, March 14.
"In a few minutes it’ll be [your] birthday as you Celebrate in Heaven we Celebrate you here on Earth," Barretto wrote. "May u know that i & the People who luv u will forever luv & Celebrate you. i luv you."
She shared the post along with a photo of a birthday cake for Rico given to her by fans of the 1990s love team.
Claudine has long been celebrating Rico’s birthday since his demise in 2002. Last year, she prepared an intimate home dinner with friends and family to commemorate Yan's 46th birthday.
Fans have also been greeting the matinee idol through the hashtag #RicoYan47.
Claudine and Rico started out as a love team with the films Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita (1998) and Got 2 Believe (2002). Their relationship eventually blossomed into love beyond the cameras in 1998, and they announced their breakup in 2002.
Shortly after their separation, Rico passed away in his sleep in the early morning of March 29, 2002, from acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis. The actor was 27 years old.
