It's a good day for the Philippine music industry as three Filipino artists earn nominations at the Big Apple Music Awards (BAMA) 2022 Dream Edition International.

P-pop boy group SB19, Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, and Ultimate Pop Superstar Sarag Geronimo each bagged a nomination for the said awards show that is held annually in New York City.

On Wednesday, August 10, BAMA announced SB19’s nomination for "Best Filipino Boy Band" on social media, and has since received thousands of ecstatic reactions within minutes.

SB19 adds this milestone to their growing list of international nominations. Previously, the quintet has been nominated in the 2021 Billboard Music Awards as Top Global Artists, also the first-ever Filipino act to be nominated in the category; and the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards as Best Southeast Asian Act.

Meanwhile, Velasquez is also nominated at the BAMAs for Best Philippine Artist.

She was recently announced as one of the regular hosts of Magandang Buhay, replacing Karla Estrada who earlier left the talk show.

Geronimo has also been nominated as the "The Best Philippine Act Award."

In 2018, she took home two BAMA awards: Best Pilipino Artist Award and the Most Popular BAMA 2018 Artist Award.
