Andrea Brillantes wants to have a 'one-woman man' as boyfriend following 'biggest' heartbreak in 2023
Andrea Brillantes wouldn't deny that her love life recently made quite a lot of twists and turns but if there's one thing she learned from it, it's how to be wiser in choosing men.
In the recent vlog of Kapamilya Host Luis Manzano, Andrea shared that she prefers to have a partner who is loyal more than faithful, as finding a faithful boyfriend is hard these days.
"Dati faithful, ngayon ang hirap na. So loyal na pwede na loyal, maging loyal ka na lang," she told Luis while noting her perspective on the difference between being loyal and faithful.
"Sa mga hindi nakakaalam, iba ang loyal sa faithful. Ang loyal kapag may dumaan na chicks, titingin 'yan pero doon pa rin siya sa mahal niya. Ang faithful kahit may chicks 'yan 'hindi titingin lang ako sa asawa ko, sa love of my life' ganun ang faithful."
"Yung loyal, puwede ka pa rin ma-attract kasi normal lang 'yon bilang tao na ma-attract ka sa ibang tao, pero doon ka pa rin sa mahal mo at wala kang gagawin sa feelings mo na 'yan. Ang faithful, kahit pa lahat ng sexy na babae na nasa harapan mo ay hindi ka titingin at hindi ka makaka-feel ng kahit anong attraction, doon ka lang talaga," Andrea added.
She then clarified that she still wanted to have that "faithful" partner despite her personal notion that it is too hard to find one today.
"Siyempre kung may faithful 'Lord, please' yun talaga."
The 20-year-old Senior High star went on to enumerate some of the attributes she looks for in a partner. She emphasized that above all, she wants a "one-woman man."
"Loyal, maalaga, gentleman, marespeto, totoong lalaki,'Yun na lang ang hinihingi ko kasi a real man, I believe, they know how to settle, alam nila kung paano makuntento sa isa at isa lang talaga. Gusto ko ng one-woman-man," she said.
"Kasi ang dami kong list noon na dapat 'di ka cheater, dapat 'di ka liar. Ang totoong lalaki, for me, hindi 'yan nagsisinungaling talaga. Alam niya kung paano aminin ang katotohanan ng buong-buo, hindi 'yung ang dami pang pasikot-sikot. Oo aamin, pero hindi lahat," Andrea added.
She continued, "Kumbaga I don't want a boy, I want a man. That's what I need, I need a man. Sobrang hectic na ng buhay ko kailangan ko ng tunay na lalaki. At hindi ko kailangan ng insecure, kailangan ko ng tunay na buong-buong lalaki," she added while ringing true to Luis on having a "peace of mind"
Her heartbreak is the highlight of her 2023
Andrea also admitted to Luis that her heartbreak is the highlight of her year, as it is the "biggest" one that she had by far.
But more than the pain she had to endure at that time, the 20-year-old star said that it was through this experience that she received overflowing love from friends, co-stars, and fans.
"Honestly tinitingnan ko itong 2023 as pinakamalas ko sa pag-ibig, in terms of romantically. Pero pinakasuwerte ko rin sa pag-ibig sa fans, sa friends, sa co-stars ko, sa casual viewers ko, sa management ko," Andrea explained.
"Oo, as in ito talaga 'yung pinakamalas ko sa pag-ibig romantically. Pero grabe naman 'yung balik ng love sa akin sa life itself. Sa pagta-travel ko, sa brand ko, sa makeup ko... sa Lucky Beauty, sa fans ko, grabe naman 'yung sukli, sobra 'yung balik."
In addition to this, the actress revealed that this is the first time she decided to let go of grudges after her breakup. Andrea emphasized that she's currently in the process of changing her destructive habit of getting "even" especially with the one who hurt her.
"Pahabol ko lang, doon sa 2023 for me is the year of growth and learning from my mistakes at pagbabawi and for me repaying karma, parang ganun. Kasi ang daming good karma sa 2023 ko, ang dami ring bad karma. I've also been very vocal na ang dami kong toxic traits before na ngayon ay inaayos ko na at tinatanggal ko na kasi gusto ko na lang talaga na laging nasa ikabubuti na lang ang ginagawa ko, nasa good na lang. I'm trying to be a better person every day as long as God lets me," she said.
"First time dito sa heartbreak kong 'to, kahit gaano kaingay, ang daming binabato, tinry kong manahimik lang and huwag lang siyang tingnan, huwag lang siyang pakinggan and lagi lang mag-focus sa sarili," she bravely continued.
Andrea officially ended her relationship with basketball star Ricci Rivero in June. The former is still single, but the latter is now in a relationship with beauty queen-turned-politician Leren Mae Bautista.
