Apart from festive decors, bibingka, and gatherings, another element that makes Filipino Christmas complete is ABS-CBN's Christmas station ID.
Highlighting their cause and community spirit, this is the time when we get to see our favorite Kapamilya stars in one project—from hosts, and favorite characters in series, to love teams.
Welcoming the month with Christmas joy, the network has finally released its annual Christmas station ID on Friday, Dec. 1. Titled Pasko Ang Pinakamagandang Kwento, this year’s theme highlights love, togetherness, and gratitude.
This year’s theme song was written by Robert Labayen & Lawrence Arvin Sibug, with music by Kiko Salazar & Jonathan Manalo arranged by Theo Martel & Tommy Katigbak. Jonathan Manalo took charge of vocal arrangement and overall music production.
Some of the artists who led the vocals include married couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, Piolo Pascual, child artist Imogen Cantong from It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda, Angeline Quinto, Bamboo, and Sarah Geronimo.
Like the usual arrangement, the video featured Kapamilya artists in their respective shows, including teleseryes Batang Quiapo and The Iron Heart and hosts of I Can See Your Voice. But it got even more special when it showed It’s Showtime alongside Kapuso employees in front of the GMA building, as well as the cast of Nag-aapoy na Damdamin in front of the TV5 building.
Also bringing the holiday joy (and kilig!) are love teams Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (DonBelle) and Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin (FranSeth). It also featured P-pop groups HORI7ON and BGYO, as well as Kapamilya fans all over the world.
Unlike on previous station IDs, former power couple KathNiel is now seen in respective solo frames.
Following its release, it landed a spot on X (formerly Twitter) trending topic list. While most expressed love and appreciation, some can’t help but miss their favorite stars.
“I was actually wishing na mag surprise appearance si Angel Locsin,” an X user wrote.
