Lee Joon-gi expresses support for 'Flower of Evil' Philippine adaptation

The Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean series Flower of Evil has been catching the attention of Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe's fans, plus none other than South Korean star Lee Joon-gi.

Joon-gi, who played the role of lead character Baek Hee Sung in the original series, took to Instagram to express his support for the show's Pinoy adaptation. 

His post earlier today, Aug. 21, comprises the show's poster featurring Pascual and Poe, followed by its Korean counterpart starring Lee and his on-screen partner Moon Jae-won.

"I heart about this from my Philippines family," Lee captioned his post. "Yeah I will check this out. And it will be great. Very happy to see you guys."

Meanwhile, Poe commented on the Hallyu actor's commendation for the Filipino adaptation, expressing that his and the entire cast's performance inspired other countries to make their own version of the show.

“MY HEART. You and the whole cast gave such a powerful performance that people all over the world wanted to make adaptations of the show,” Poe said.

Prior to this, Lee also showed his support for the show's Indian adaptation Duranga, with another Instagram post showing the poster of the original Korean series side by side with its Indian counterpart. The show is starred by Indian actors Drashi Dhami and Gulshan Devaiah.

"Happy to see you friends! Looking forward to it," Lee wrote on the caption.

The Philippine version of Flower of Evil follows the same plot as the original version wherein a man named Jacob (Pascual) tries to run from his dark past while his wife Iris (Poe) slowly uncovers the truth while saving him from the law.

Joining Pascual and Poe in the show are stars Paulo Avelinio, Edu Manzano, Agot Isidro, Denise Laurel, Joross Gambap, among others. It premiered on Viu on June 23 and on the Kapamilya Channel on June 25.
