Designer Jojo Bragais shared a cryptic post on Facebook on March 31, which commenters believe is targeted at Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.

"You don't have to like me, but at least give the respect," he wrote. The shoe designer also included the "#waxIn and #waxOut," leading netizens to speculate he was talking about the beauty queen.

On March 30, Gray was commemorated with a wax figure at Singapore's Madame Tussauds. The statue donned her winning look when she was crowned Miss Universe: the fiery lava gown by Mak Tumang and Bragais' nude heels.

The beauty queen tagged the gown designer in the post but missed out on crediting Bragais for the shoes. She even mentioned Tumang in the caption, thanking him for the replica lava garment created for the wax figure.

Seemingly taking a swipe at Gray again, Bragais shared on April 1 how he felt honored that singer and actress Laura Marano tagged him in her post when she wore the Filipino designer's shoes in The Kelly Clarkson Show.

"Thank you for tagging me. Means a lot!" he wrote on Facebook. "Simple happiness ng artist, for them to get credit on pieces of art na binigyan ng time and puso," the designer added.

Bragais is a renowned shoe designer, whose creations have been worn by Filipina beauty queens like Gray, Katarina Rodriguez, and Shamcey Supsup. His brand was the official footwear sponsor of the Miss Universe pageant in 2021. Bragais Shoes are also a staple at the national Miss Universe Philippines competition.
