Content creator Abi Marquez, known as the "Lumpia Queen" on TikTok, emerged victorious at the 28th Annual Webby Awards.

Regarded as one of the biggest influencers in the Philippines when it comes to food, Marquez was named the People’s Voice Winner in the General Social: Food & Drink Category of the awards organization.

She shares the win with America's Test Kitchen from Cook's Illustrated Magazine, a cooking show that's currently co-hosted by Julia Collin Davison and Bridget Lancaster.

Other honorees include British celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay, Mexican home chef Alejandra Tapia, and YouTube vlogger Raphael Gomes.

Marquez, who has over three million followers on TikTok, is known for her experimental lumpia recipes where she tries to cook with fillings that you won't usually put inside a lumpia wrapper, such as peach mango pie and ice cream.

When she announced her nomination on TikTok, she shared that her goal was to "fill the social media space with fun, valuable cooking tutorials."

"Since I started creating content two years ago, I've always been proud to highlight Filipino food. Our street food, our ulams, our dessert. And recently, I'm so happy to discover that these TikTok's alone have reached more than one billion views worldwide," the young home cook said.

"A huge milestone for me and my country. I'm extremely grateful for the support that you've given me," she added.

The Webbys was established in 1996 and honors excellence in nine major media types: Websites and Mobile Sites, Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Apps & Software, Social, Podcasts, Games, and AI, and Metaverse & Virtual.
