Kris Aquino throws shade at ex-boyfriend during Leni-Kiko rally: ‘Di marunong tumupad sa mga pinangako’
Kris Aquino made it to Philippine Twitter’s list of trending topics Wednesday night, March 23 after she threw shade at her ex-boyfriend during the Leni-Kiko rally held in Tarlac.
The Queen of All Media was on stage with Kakampink actress Angel Locsin, who thanked the pink crowd for showing up despite the rainy weather. “Mas nais ko nga po sanang sumama sa inyo sa crowd pero sabi ni ate (Kris), magbigay-pugay daw po ako sa inyo na lumabas dito kahit umuulan, uma-attend. Rain or shine, walang excuse, lumalabas,” said Angel.
“Kasi ‘yun naman gusto natin sa isang tao, hindi po ba? Kapag hahanap ka ng kaibigan, o karelasyon, kailangan laging nandyan ‘pag kailangan mo, hindi kapag tuwing eleksyon lang,” she added.
“Gel, pinatatamaan mo ata ako diyan. Aray. Ouch,” Kris joked, to which Angel replied with: “Ate, palagi kang lumalabas tuwing may sakuna kagaya ni VP Leni.”
Kris then clarified that she was referring to what Angel said about relationships.
“Nandito ba siya? Hindi naman siya nandito,” Angel asked with a laugh.
Kris responded: “Hindi. Diba yung isa, nasa UniTeam? Yung ex?”
“Oh, huwag niyo iboto ‘yun, ha. Sayang ang boto dahil hindi marunong tumupad sa mga pinangako. Deadma, please,” she said.
As she trended on Twitter, netizens pointed out that she was most likely referring to former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, who is part of the UniTeam’s senatorial slate headed by presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential hopeful Sara Duterte.
"Of course, she was referring to Herbert Bautista," a Twitter user said.
Another one tweeted: "OMG, Kris Aquino literally said don't vote for Herbert Bautista."
Reacting to the viral exchange, a netizen declared that "Kris Aquino will always be Kris Aquino."
Kris—who confirmed her breakup with fiance, ex-DILG secretary Mel Sarmiento—dated Herbert in 2014. The politician, meanwhile, is rumored to be dating Ruffa Gutierrez.
