Jessy Mendiola confirms church wedding with Luis Manzano: 'Finally, matutuloy na'
Celebrity couple Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano will soon tie the knot in a wedding church.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Mendiola confirmed during a Health and Beauty Fair at a mall in Mandaluyong City on Saturday, Feb. 3 that her church wedding with her husband will happen soon.
"We're not really hiding it naman. Finally, matutuloy na rin 'yung church wedding namin," the actress said, noting that it would be her "dream wedding" as this will also be witnessed by her family.
"Dream wedding namin, Finally, makakauwi na rin 'yung family ko."
In case you didn't know, the couple married in an intimate civil wedding in February 2021, in a ceremony officiated by Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa.
Only a few of their nearest and dearest witnessed the occasion, including Edu Manzano, Vilma Santos-Recto, Senator Ralph Recto, and Ryan Recto. Jessy's mom, who couldn't attend the affair, expressed her love to the pair via video call.
This came after the two confirmed in Dec. 2020 that they were officially engaged, following a social media announcement that the proposal happened formally in October of the same year.
Mendiola claims that for her entire family to be present for this significant occasion, she and Manzano waited for the ideal timing.
"Nakakatuwa, kasi, my whole family is coming, and finally they can meet Rosie," she said, highlighting how her husband is "invested" in their "intimate dream wedding."
"It's an intimate wedding again... This time kasi, si Luis nga sweet eh, sabi niya I want you to have your wedding of your dreams, with your family and with the Lord."
Although there are no specific dates yet, ABS-CBN News said that it could happen on February 15. Nonetheless, the couple's first child, Rosie, fondly called "Peanut," is one of the little bridesmaids.
“Little bride siya, nae-excite ako, super. And naglalakad na siya, sana lang makayanan niyang maglakad sa aisle." Mendiola excitedly shared.
Mendiola and Manzano welcomed Rosie in January 2023. After five years of dating, they married at The Farm in San Benito in Batangas in February 2021.
