Why Kris Aquino avoids sharing photos of herself during medical treatment in the US
Kris Aquino revealed why she has been rarely sharing photos of herself on social media as she continues to get medical treatment and procedures for her multiple autoimmune diseases in the United States.
In a lengthy comment on a fan page’s recent Instagram post of her picture initially shared by Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, the “Queen of All Media” shared she has been documenting her journey in private because she’s looking to turn it into a documentary one day.
“I’ve avoided posting any pics of myself because I’ve been privately chronicling my journey, hoping na after the many months na titiisin ko ang immunosuppressant therapy (I’ve researched all the warnings of how weak I’ll feel, the likelihood that I’ll have low grade fever, throw up often, weight loss, feel even more fatigued than I do now, and yung possibility that I’ll lose my hair—after all, the medícation is what’s given to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy—but for rheumatology patients, yung dosage is about 15%), I’d be able to show all of you in a documentary na hindi ako sumuko, sa lahat ng kinailangan pagdaanan, tinuloy ang laban,” she wrote.
The multimedia personality went on to thank those who continue to pray for her and her family during this difficult time. “Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. Next week, we super need more especially for our doctors,” she said as she also gave an update on her health as well as her children Josh and Bimb.
“Bimb needs to go in for a few nights confinement for his full medical assessment (he & kuya had their primary immunodeficiency genetic testing done because both of them have the same blood type as me, like all my siblings, & our mom),” she shared.
“I’m a firm believer it’s better to know early so if needed, solutions are still available. My 6’1, 15-year-old sa pediatrics pa rin so magbabantay ako.”
“Then I’ll be confined for five nights to confirm that my previous diagnosis of having four autoimmune conditions was correct and to confirm if I do have a fifth because of my recent blood panel,” she continued.
On Dec. 24, Kris talked about her “four diagnosed autoimmune ailments (two are life-threatening) and a highly likely fifth” due to her “distinct physical manifestations.” She also shared her Christmas wish at the time. “My Christmas wish is makabawi ako sa ginagawa niyong mabuti para sa akin ngayon. My first cycle of immunotherapy treatment (same medicine as chemo but at a much lower dose given over a longer period of time) will take about 10 months,” she revealed in an IG post.
In a previous update in late November, Kris shared that she’s signed up in a hospital’s center for people who have rare and undiagnosed illnesses as she continues to undergo important tests and procedures for her health.
She will also be admitted in early 2023 for further testing as the coordinator described her as a “challenge” since she’s allergic to various types of medicine, including steroids. “Pang-case study daw ako—one person with multiple autoimmune conditions and over 100 known allergic or adverse reactions to medication,” she explained.
