Arci Muñoz on ‘pilot dreams’: ‘Be a woman who rises above the groundbreaking norms’

Arci Muñoz has kicked off her “pilot journey.”

Sharing some highlights of her first day in aviation school on Sunday, July 17, the actress quoted writer and aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart in the caption of her Instagram post: “Everyone has oceans to fly if they have the heart to do it. Is it reckless? Maybe. But what do dreams know of boundaries?”

In the video, she can be seen learning how to maneuver a plane with one of the school’s instructors by her side.

“Be a woman who rises above the groundbreaking norms. Reach for yer dreams! And be whoever you wanna be cos sky is ze limit,” she added along with travel emojis.

“Feeling enthusiastic about my pilot journey,” Arci continued.

She also expressed her gratitude to Bicol-based Topflite Academy, which welcomed her to the course.

This isn’t the first time that Arci has gone beyond gender stereotypes. In 2020, she officially became a sergeant under the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command upon completing her course on Basic Citizen Military Training, which lasted for 30 days.

She also received an award from the Philippine Air Force in 2021 for her “active participation in the different PAF relief operations and during the conduct of fundraising activity dubbed as ‘PAF Musicale.’ In a previous Instagram post, she wrote: “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish. To the Philippine Air Force, thank you so much for this recognition. Truly, I am blessed and it is an honor to serve.”
