Cristine Reyes on Marco Gumabao: 'Definitely not tropa anymore'

After Cristine Reyes and Marco Gumabao seemingly went Instagram official last April 24, her old "Jojowain o Totropahin" challenge video resurfaced, in which she labeled Gumabao as a "tropa."

In an interview with Boy Abunda in October 2019, Reyes, then 31, was shown photos of men, whom she must identify whether they're boyfriend material or simply a friend. A photo of Gumabao, then 25, flashed on the screen.

“Si Marco, we’re friends. Ang bata pa ni Marco!" Reyes said, as everybody started laughing. "Ano ako, cougar?”

But three years later, she appears to have come around, especially that Gumabao shared a carousel of their sweet moments together. The photos included him kissing Reyes on the cheek while hugging her from behind and holding hands while walking.

Netizens were quick to remember her words, as some Facebook pages also shared screenshots and closed captions of the interview.

Reyes seemingly caught wind of the comments when she changed her Facebook profile picture to a cozy photo of herself with Gumabao.

From a simple caption of two red hearts and rose emojis, she edited it to, "Definitely not tropa anymore," along with the hashtag #HOME and emojis of peace sign, finger heart, and red heart.

Reyes also posted a monochrome version of the photo on her Instagram Story.

"Home kasi..." as she mentioned Gumabao, who previously referred to her as his "home and adventure in one."

Gumabao also shared Reyes' Instagram Story with a cheeky caption: "Hindi na couga... 'di ko na itutuloy."

Gumabao, now 28, and Reyes, now 34, fueled dating rumors in March when they were spotted together in different locations like Siargao and Makati.

He was asked to confirm things in a press conference later that month, but didn't give a specific answer. Gumabao, however, noted that they're not trying to hide anything, especially from the public.

They first worked together in the 2016 teleserye Tubig at Langis. They're now under Viva Artists Agency.

Reyes shares a daughter with ex-husband Ali Khatibi, a mixed martial artist. They got married in 2016 and separated in 2019.
