A Pinay is about to make her K-pop idol dreams come true.

Chantal Videla, a Star Magic Circle Batch 2018 talent, has been preparing to debut as a K-pop idol under MLD Entertainment. The entertainment agency is home to Korean musical acts like Momoland, T1419, and soloist Heo Chanmi.

While it’s unknown when Videla will debut, her introduction profile has been revealed on MLD Entertainment’s Instagram page as early as November 2021. The 19-year-old stunner shared on her profile that she’s currently “studying Korean” to talk to her fans. Here are some of the fun facts we’ve uncovered about her so far.

Chantal is half Filipino

Videla is born to a Filipina mother and an Argentinian father on Dec. 19, 2002. The 19-year-old grew up in Spain before moving to the Philippines. She can also speak in four languages, namely, English, Filipino, Spanish, and Korean.

Chantal was introduced as part of Star Magic Circle Batch 2018

Before getting accepted as a K-pop trainee, Videla used to be an actress in the Philippines. She was revealed as part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Circle Batch 2018 alongside Donny Pangilinan, Lena Alcasid, Charlie Dizon, and Marcus Paterson, among others. According to her profile, she used to be a commercial model and is a fan of Liza Soberano.

Some of Videla’s most popular works in the Philippines include Starla, Hiwaga ng Kambat, and Spirits Reawaken

Chantal has been using the stage name “Chanty” as a trainee

Since Videla’s trainee profile was revealed, we’ve noticed that she’s been using the stage name “Chanty” in her official activities. Even the MLD Entertainment web series Nadol showed the Pinay-Argentinian using this particular stage name whenever she introduces herself to her fans.

Chanty was also described as a trainee with “a pretty appearance and a charming low voice” who can dance with her “long arms and legs.” The introduction video also showed her performing 11:11 by Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Dumb Dumb by Somi.

Chantal is often seen with Girls Planet 999 contestant Nonaka Shana

Sadly, details about MLD Entertainment’s upcoming girl group remain unknown, as of this writing. Even so, Videla is often seen with Japanese trainee Nonaka Shana who competed in the Korean survival series Girls Planet 999. She didn’t make it to the final lineup since she was eliminated during the finale.

The “foreign trainee duo” is often seen together in Nadol and MLD Entertainment’s YouTube channel where they did a cover of Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me

Chantal has been improving her singing and dancing skills

Nadol also revealed that Chantal has been developing her singing and dancing skills as a K-pop trainee. While news of her positing in the girl group hasn’t been revealed, her trainee videos show that she has the potential to debut as a lead vocalist, lead dancer, and visual.

Chantal has appeared in Korean music videos

Videla proved she has the star power as she appeared in the music videos of the R&B duo JT&Marcus. The beautiful trainee was spotted in the videos of tracks like First and Dear You
