Elmo celebrates birthday after going viral for checking in on the internet
After going viral for checking in on X users, Elmo celebrated his birthday, which he said was his "best ever."
The Sesame Street character trended online on Jan. 29 after asking users on the social media platform how they were doing.
While there were positive responses to his post, some users trauma-dumped on Elmo.
"Wow! Elmo is glad he asked! Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you," he wrote on Jan. 31, adding the hashtag #EmotionalWellBeing.
On Feb. 3, Elmo celebrated his birthday, turning three and a half once again. After teasing his birthday, people checked in on the Sesame Street character and sent their greetings.
"A lot of friends have been checking in, and yes, Elmo is doing great. Today is Elmo's birthday! Yeah, baby! Thank you for checking in. Now let's have a party! #EmotionalWellBeing #HappyBirthdayElmo," he posted.
Some users apologized to Elmo for dumping their misery before his special day.
"Happy birthday Elmo. Sorry we are all so miserable," one user said.
"Elmo still holding it down as the only positive cat on X," another added.
"Happy birthday king," said one user.
"Happy birthday Elmo, I've been struggling lately but [you] cheer me up," posted another X user.
The Sesame Street Muppet later said that this year was his "best birthday ever" and that he felt special.
