It's always a tragedy for a K-pop fan to miss out on the chance to see their idols perform on the stage with their own eyes, which is what makes Maris Racal's posts about Red Velvet's New Year's Eve performance all the more hilarious.
In case you didn't know, the South Korean girl group's unnie line—Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy—arrived in the Philippines to delight their fans with an exciting performance on Bonifacio Global City’s "NYE at the 5th" New Year countdown on Dec. 31.
It's no secret that Maris has been a longtime fan of Red Velvet, having previously enjoyed herself to the max at the K-pop powerhouse's concert in Pasay City in May earlier this year.
Despite her overwhelming admiration for them, she unfortunately had to miss out on Red Velvet's New Year's Eve performance. Because of this, Maris couldn't help but act bitter online, resulting in the funniest reactions from the local star.
One user posted about how they encountered members Irene and Seulgi in their coffee shop, "Nakausap ko si Irene at Seulgi! Bumili ng coffee sa store namin. Nanginginig ako habang tinetake order nila. Ang sweet ng boses nila sobra. Happy new year na agad sa'kin!"

Some fans who attended Red Velvet's New Year's Eve appearance also decided to tease the actress on her absence. One user tagged Maris in a fan's picture of member Wendy as she was serenading the crowd at the NYE at the 5th, writing, "Pikit na lang, Maris Racal."

While it's unclear why the actress had to pass on watching her favorite K-pop group's performance, she previously published a post about this in early December, "Wendy wag naman new year 😣 may pamilya rin ako 😣"
