Big Bang's Taeyang has finally released his comeback single featuring BTS' Jimin, and it's one to get you into, well, a groovy vibe!

The track, titled "Vibe," was teased by both South Korean boy group members on Jan. 4 following reports of their collaboration that began circulating in early December.

Its release was announced by Taeyang on social media today, Jan. 13, with a 20-second clip from the song's electrifying music video where both singers showcase their mellow vocals and bodacious dance moves.

Vibe's music video starts with Taeyang leading the song, which has a mix of English and Korean lyrics, before Jimin made a dramatic entrance with his silhouette.

Adding to the track's upbeat but chill vibe is the video's scintillating stroboscopic lighting effect that coincides with the K-pop idols' dynamic choreography.

Vibe is Taeyang's first track as a soloist since the release of his third album White Night way back in 2017. The K-pop star wrote the lyrics to the new song alongside Jimin and producers Teddy, Kush, Vince, and 24.

An hour before the release of his track, Taeyang held a live countdown online where he also discussed with his fans how the collaboration came about.

According to the 34-year-old Big Bang member, it came to Teddy's mind when Taeyang was discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service in 2019 and years before BTS announced that they are pursuing solo projects in June of last year.

"About 2 years ago, the members of BTS were not very active individually as they are now," Taeyang said as translated by Allkpop.

"I was working on music all this time ever since I returned from mandatory service, and Teddy hyung just commented in passing one day, 'Right about now is a really good time for you and Jimin to come out with a really good song. Everyone will love it'.'"

Taeyang admitted that the producer's idea "shocked" him, especially because he never asked people to collaborate with him on his music. "It was difficult to find a way to go about it. It was always in the back of my mind," he remarked.

That changed, he said, when he got to know the supergroup, particularly Jimin, better. He continued, "Last year, I was invited to several events and I got to meet the members of BTS. I finally met up with Jimin, and while we talked about this and that, we naturally talked about how it would be nice to work on music together. From there, I was able to invite him to the studio to work on this song."
