Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won to star in new K-drama by ‘Crash Landing on You’ writer, director • PhilSTAR Life

Good news, K-drama fans!

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won will star in a drama by the same people behind the hit South Korean series Crash Landing on You.

Production company Studio Dragon made the announcement on Monday, Dec. 5. “The production of writer Park Ji Eun’s new drama Queen of Tears has been confirmed.” She’s the same writer of other beloved dramas like My Love From the Star and The Producers.

According to a report by Soompi, the upcoming drama will be directed by Jang Young Woo, who also worked his brilliance on CLOY.

Kim Soo Hyun will portray the character of a conglomerate’s legal director (Baek Hyun Woo). Kim Ji Won, meanwhile, will play Hong Hae In— the former’s wife, who is also the “queen” of the company’s department stores.

Soompi reported that the new drama “will tell the miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story of this married couple, who manage to survive a crisis and stay together against all odds.”

The production of Queen of Tears will kick off in the first half of 2023. It’s slated for release in the same year.
