Liza 'Hope' Soberano has broken her silence on Boy Abunda's "extremely disappointed" sentiments toward her after she released her controversial vlog about her new career moves.

In the video published on Feb. 25, Liza opened up about finally "earning the right" to be herself, which resulted in people accusing her of being ungrateful to her previous management.

Speaking with Boy on his afternoon show, Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Liza confessed that she didn't want to be interviewed at first because she didn't feel the need to explain herself further, but then she wanted to clear up all the interpretations of what she said in her vlog.

Boy then brought up what he said about Liza when he first watched the video, where he said that he was "extremely disappointed but not disgusted" for seemingly not being thankful for everything her past managers did for her.

When asked what her reaction to this was, Liza admitted, "Na-hurt ako kasi feeling ko off all people, ikaw 'yung makakaintindi because I see you as one of the wisest in the industry."

"Sa dami ng napagdaanan mo with different personalities, you always saw things for what they were. And parang 'yung paniniwala ko, your judgment isn't clouded by the noise of the media, by what the fans say. Parang I felt misunderstood by you," she said.

On the issue of whether she was limited with her projects, the 25-year-old actress shared that when she began to rise to prominence, she was given the "right to approve certain things" in her career, but that she was still "not empowered" in sharing ideas on how she could grow more.

"I may have made some decisions for myself. I may have agreed to do certain things, but I wouldn't say that they were completely my own," Liza said.

She went on, "I had fans to cater to. I had a family to provide for. I had people in the industry that I wanted to impress or make proud. So I didn't grow up learning how to choose things for myself and deciding on what I want. It was always dictated by what people think is what's right for me."

Liza then revealed that she had an experience where some of the crew of the show she was working on were talking behind her back.

"Mayroon pong mga times na I would talk to the directors, the personal assistants, the writers and be like, 'Sa tingin ko po, hindi sasabihin ng character ko ito, hindi gagawin ng character ko ito,' and sometimes they would negotiate," she said.

"[B]ut they would talk to me behind my back and call me 'little producer.' And so, ever since that, parang I didn't have the right to bring these up kasi feeling ko nao-offend ko yung mga tao sa paligid ko, which was not my intention. But I thought as an actor, that that was my job also to do, to question, to help improve the story, to collaborate," she added.

Though she disclosed this to her former talent manager, Ogie Diaz, they couldn't do anything about it as she couldn't reveal her confidant. She also confessed that she was afraid to disappoint people and create enemies. Thus, she had no choice but to back down.

In case you're out the loop, the issue was ignited after the actress took down all of her social media posts, reintroduced herself as Hope, and opened up how she felt about her showbiz career as a whole, such as how she was pigeonholed into limiting projects.

Speaking with Bea Alonzo, she also said that being confined in a love team with Enrique Gil boxed her from more opportunities.

These led her to signing a contract with James Reid's record label, Careless. Netizens and even some key personalities and executives from her past management, ABS-CBN, have since accused her of being an "inggrata" and "walang utang na loob," to which she vehemently denied and emphasized that she is "truly grateful for everything" that they gave her.
