Lewis Capaldi suffers Tourette’s mid-show, fans help him finish his song

Lewis Capaldi shared a heartwarming moment with his fans during his recently concluded concert in Germany.

In the middle of his Feb. 21 show in Frankfurt, the Scottish singer struggled with Tourette’s tics while performing his hit song Someone You Loved. Just when he was about to belt out the chorus, he kept shaking uncontrollably, prompting him to turn away from the microphone and stop singing.

Without hesitation, his fans came together to complete the song: “Now, the day bleeds into nightfall/ And you’re not here to get me through it all/ I let my guard down and then you pulled the rug/ I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defined Tourette Syndrome as a condition of the nervous system that causes individuals to have tics, which “are sudden twitches, movements, or sounds that people do repeatedly.” The CDC added that those who have it “cannot stop their body from doing these things.”

According to Billboard, the talented singer previously opened up about suffering from the disorder via Instagram. “The worst thing about it is when I’m excited, I get it. When I’m stressed, I get it. When I’m happy, I get it. It happens all the time. Some days, it’s more painful than others and some days it’s less painful. It looks a lot worse than it is. Sometimes, it’s quite uncomfortable—but it comes and goes.”
