Marina Summers wins 'Drag Race: UK vs the World' talent show with own version of 'Amakabogera'

She’s a true Filipina winnah, baby! Philippines’ Marina Summers won the talent show in the first episode of Drag Race: UK vs The World Season 2 with her own rendition of Amakabogera.

The Filipina drag queen owned the stage during her performance of AmaFilipina, her own version of Maymay Entrata’s hit single Amakabogera. She paired it with poi choreography while donning a sultry dress in red and bronze.

Drag queens had to wear looks inspired by their respective hometowns for the runway walk, where Marina opted for traditional Ifugao clothing to pay homage to Banaue Rice Terraces farmers.

"Bringing my Filipina heritage and culture to the main stage, I feel very, very proud. I have this basket which is carrying sticky rice," Marina said, adding that she grew up surrounded by farmers. "To be wearing this in front of the whole world gives me so much joy and pride."

This comes after she made an iconic entrance on the show in a warrior-themed ensemble.

"Mabuhay b—ches! My name is Marina Summers, and I'm the most beloved runner-up of the Philippines, or some might say, the most famous loser of the Philippines," Marina said in her introduction.

As she graced the runway, the drag queen raised her sword and said, "It's time to give these colonizers the chop!"

Marina was first announced as part of the show's cast earlier this year, making her the first drag queen to represent the Philippines in an international All Stars edition of RuPaul's Drag Race

The 27-year-old drag artist is joined by other drag superstars across the world, including UK favorites Choriza May, Gothy Kendoll, Jonbers Blonde, and Tia Kofi.

Marina was runner-up to Precious Paula Nicole in the first season of Drag Race Philippines, which aired in 2022.
