According to a report by PEOPLE, the news started going viral on social media after a TikTok user shared that her friend “seated them” at an unnamed restaurant, where the latter saw the rumored pair "walking hand in hand making out.”

Gomez is one of the 18 people that Malik is following on Instagram. She followed him back on the social media platform just recently.
The actress got linked to Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers in January, but was quick to note that she was single at the time. “I like being alone too much,” she said in an Instagram Story that she later deleted.
Malik used to be in a relationship with model Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares a 2-year-old child named Khai. They started dating in 2015, but called it quits in 2021.
