Kylie Padilla turned emotional as she opened up about her past relationship with her estranged husband, actor Aljur Abrenica.

In a Nov. 3 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the actress revealed the biggest lesson she learned from their marriage. "Medyo cliché eh, but I wish nagtira ako para sa sarili ko," she shared, "kasi I gave my all talaga."

"For a time, sa relationship namin, there was a point in my life na dadaanan ninyo talaga as people in relationships will go through, you know? Struggles, mayroon talaga. Kasama talaga 'yun."

"But because I made the promise of marriage, even if sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘Okay, if I’m unhappy now and magiging ganito na yung set-up namin, ipaglalaban ko pa rin para sa mga anak ko,'" she said, crying.

According to her, she tried to hold on to their marriage even though she didn't believe in it because she wanted to give her children a complete family.

"Inubos ko and nauwi rin sa hiwalayan. Galing ako sa broken family so ayokong matulad like… I hate it when people say, ‘Artista 'yan, papalit-palit lang. That’s their life. Ganun talaga ang style ng mga artista when it comes to relationships.’ But people don’t know how much it hurt me," she opened up, adding that she found it "unfair."

"I made a promise talaga to myself eh. Kahit na I went postpartum noon and postpartum was very hard, it's a very difficult thing for a woman to go through, pero ipinaglaban ko pa rin hanggang sa dulo na paninindigan ko yung ginawa namin na kasal," she went on.

"The fact na it wasn’t returned, masakit sa akin," said Kylie.

The local star noted that after all that happened, she still has no regrets about being with Aljur. She also said that their kids have maintained a good relationship with him even after their split.

"And one thing that I don’t want them to go through is wala silang tatay or maramdaman nila na wala silang tatay, so wala akong pagsisisi," she explained.

"Tsaka I don’t wanna hold my ex Aljur in a negative light. Never ever. Magre-reflect 'yun sa akin," she continued.

Kylie and Aljur got married in 2018 and announced their separation in 2021. They share two kids together: Alas and Axl.

Aljur was immediately linked to actress AJ Raval as they starred in the VivaMax movie Nerisa that premiered in July of the same year.

AJ was accused of being a third party in their relationship, which she strongly denied. Kylie has also clarified that AJ had nothing to do with the split.

Aljur went Instagram official with AJ on Valentine's Day.

In late February, Kylie said she and Aljur were still finalizing their annulment. At the time, she noted that they are on good terms, and have agreed to co-parent their children.
