You can never go wrong with a good, old K-drama binge-watch fest. After all, it’s the closest thing we have to fall in love with an oppa or unnie.

From cheesy romances, scandalous affairs to spine-tingling adventures, you can always trust South Korea to deliver the best series for your viewing pleasure. Take a look at the exciting K-dramas set to premiere in June 2022. 

Eve 

Premiere date: June 1
Cast: Seo Yeji, Park Byungeun, Yoo Sun, Lee Sangyeob

Steamy scenes, scandalous affairs, and a heated family war: Eve revolves around Lee Ra-el’s (Seo Yeji) determination to get revenge on a chaebol family after they orchestrated the death of her father.

Another spicy love story in the making. Demoted lawyer turned law professor Oh Soojae (Seo Hyunjin) gets transferred to Seojung University Law School after unexpectedly failing at a case. She crosses paths with law student Gong Chan (Hwang Inyoup) and they eventually fall in love. However, their budding romance is tested when Soojae’s boss shows off his power to get anything he wants.

Cleaning Up

Cleaning Up tells the story of three housekeepers determined to change their fate after accidentally overhearing top-secret information at a securities firm where they are employed. A remake of the British TV series of the same name, the trio hopes to turn their destinies around after living complicated lives. 

Yumi’s Cells 2

Premiere date: June 10
Cast: Kim Goeun, Park Jinyoung, Ahn Bohyun, Lee Yoobi

Set after the first season, Yumi’s Cells 2 revolves around Kim Yumi (Kim Goeun) learning how to find herself after a painful breakup with Koo Woong (Ahn Bohyun). She opens her heart again once she becomes aware of her growing feelings toward her co-worker Bobby Yoo (Park Jinyoung).

Alchemy of Souls

Premiere date: June 18

Ever wonder what it’s like to make a deal with the dead? Alchemy Of Souls revolves around a group of nobles who get entangled in the mysterious supernatural phenomenon called Hwanhonsool which includes the returned souls of the dead. The series is set in the fictional Kingdom of Daeho, which is loosely based on South Korea’s Joseon Dynasty.

Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area

Premiere date: June 24
Cast: Yoo Jitae, Jeon Jongseo, Park Haesoo, Lee Wonjong, Kim Jihoon, Jang Yoonju, Lee Hyunwoo, Kim Jihun, Lee Kyuho, Kim Yunjin

Perhaps, the most-anticipated K-drama on the list, the adaptation of La Casa De Papel revolves around what appears to be the greatest heist on the Korean Peninsula. The Joint Economic Area, which is described to be a place where “every Korean was expected to benefit,” turned out to be another opportunity for the “rich to get richer.” 

Determined for justice, the Professor (Yoo Jitae) attempts to pull off the greatest heist with a group of people with unique criminal minds and abilities.

Premiere date: June 24
Cast: Bae Suzy, Jung Eunchae, Kim Junhan, Park Yeyoung, Kim Jungyoung

Beware of pretending to be someone else. Anna tells the story of Yumi (Bae Suzy) who loses grasp of her true identity after living the life of someone else because of a made-up story. she finds herself in an internal struggle between true or false and whether she’s the true Yumi or not. 

Cafe Mimandang

Premiere date: June 27
Cast: Seo Inguk, Oh Yeonseo

Based on a web novel, Cafe Mimandang revolves around a suspicious cafe where supernatural events occur, affecting its customers. Dashing profiler-turned-swindler Seo Inguk has the ability to make sense of these shamanic events with his impressive speech abilities and unique eye for current events.
