Britney Spears asks fans to respect her privacy after they called cops to her house

Britney Spears is requesting that her privacy be respected after an incident with the authorities. Some concerned fans have allegedly left calls to the police, prompting them to do a "wellness check" on the popstar in her home. Britney's fans were concerned that she could be in danger after she deleted her Instagram account.

"As everyone knows, the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls. I love and adore my fans, but this time, things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded," Britney tweeted on Thursday, Jan. 26.

While she confirmed that the police didn't enter her home and that they left immediately once they saw that nothing was amiss, it made her feel like she was "being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news," as well as being "portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media."

"During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward," Britney ended.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told Page Six that the pop artist, who until in 2021 had been living under a conservatorship, wasn't in any kind of danger. Authorities also told TMZ that Britney merely deleted her Instagram account for an undisclosed reason, which would not be the first time that it happened.

Following the end of her nearly 14-year conservatorship under her father Jamie, which legally allowed him and many others to control her life and estate, the pop star has been celebrating her renewed sense of freedom through posts on her social media accounts. Recently, Britney took it up a notch by posting sizzling nude snaps of herself on a white sand beach.
