Kris Bernal shares glimpse of first workout 5 months into her pregnancy

Kris Bernal is determined to get back to being fit and healthy for the rest of her pregnancy journey.

Prior to announcing that she's giving birth to a her first child last month, Kris frequently posts workout challenges on her YouTube channel where she builds up her muscles and stamina. After she became pregnant and started to experience symptoms such as morning sickness, however, she decided to temporarily stop her exercises.

But now, the first-time mom took to her Instagram account to share her "very first workout" in five months since starting her pregnancy journey.

"I can now manage to perform a low impact exercise now that the majority of my early pregnancy symptoms have started to clear up," Kris wrote.

She went on, "If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I am a beast at the gym accustomed to heavy lifting and intense workouts. I’m so surprised with my low stamina and my overall lack of energy. Body weight seems to have doubled and I could only manage a few repetitions. Nakakapanibago, parang hindi ako 'to."

The actress highlighted that she is keeping herself fit not because she wants to lose weight. "Deadma muna on the number on the scale. This is me trying to workout during pregnancy, not to lose the weight gain, but to prepare myself for labor and for life," she stressed.

Kris first announced that she is expecting to welcome her bundle of joy with her husband Perry Choi on March 3, wherein they did a unique and hilarious movie-themed maternity photoshoot. The couple got engaged in February 2020 before finally taking their relationship to the altar in September 2021.
