Moira Dela Torre expressed her thoughts after being diagnosed with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

In an interview with MJ Marfori, the hugot OPM singer disclosed that she was recently diagnosed with ADHD, a chronic and debilitating disorder that can cause one to have "trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors, or be overly active."

"The notion of ADHD is hyper, and I'm the opposite," she said. "Apparently, ADHD doesn't just define hyper. There's a lot of other things... Actually, I'm still learning so much."

She said there were symptoms in the past but it never crossed her mind that she already has ADHD.

"I used to think na na-titrigger lang ako, but yun pala may mga certain instances lang talaga na parang na-aano ka. And usually, halimbawa, may certain sounds na mawawala yung train of thought mo," she shared, adding that this is a “new season” for her to better know herself.

“I feel like I’ve always been so hard on myself. I always beat myself up for not having it together,” the singer said.

According to her, the feeling of not being okay and seeking help is not embarrassing. She explained that one cannot heal and move if they do not acknowledge this.

“You can’t heal what you don’t acknowledge, and you can’t move forward if you don’t acknowledge where you are right now,” she said.

In the past, Moira has also opened up about mental health, reminding her followers that their pain is "valid" and that seeking help should be normalized.

"The past few days have been tough mentally. Anxiety attacks have been often. My joints start to stiffen. I couldn't breathe. But it hurts more to know that so many people go through this with me every single day," she said on Instagram.

"Let this post be a reminder that it's okay not to be okay and that getting help is good! It's not something to be ashamed of. Our partners, our family, our friends, our psychiatrists are all gifts from God. Don't be afraid to open up. Your pain is valid. You are important and you are worthy to be heard," she said.

Moira is one of the rising singers in the Philippines with her hit songs Titibo-tibo which was released in 2018, and Paubaya released in 2020.

She was married to singer Jason Marvin Hernandez on January 14, 2019, but they separated ways in 2022.
