Baron Geisler earns college degree in theology
Baron Geisler finally earned his degree at the age of 40. The actor announced it in an Instagram post on April 26, where he is seen all smiles alongside his classmates during the commencement exercise held the previous day.
"My journey has reached its goal, and opened a way before me. Thank you Lord," Geisler said in the caption. He completed a bachelor's degree in theology from the All Nations College in Antipolo.
In an Instagram Story posted on the same day, Geisler shared a photo of him with his mentor and wrote, "2019 tayo nag-start at to na po, nasagot ng Panginoon ang aking pangarap makapag tapos ng kolehiyo #itsnevertoolate."
In the past years, the controversial celebrity has been making headlines for sexual harassment and physical assault allegations from his fellow artists, on top of his alcohol and drug addiction.
In September 2019, Geisler married psychologist Jamie Evangelista after one year of being together. The actor revealed in an interview with ABS-CBN's Magandang Buhay that he met her in the rehabilitation center where he was getting treated for his drug addiction.
The couple welcomed their baby daughter Talitha Cumi or Tali on January 28, 2020. Geisler revealed in an interview with ABS-CBN News in February 2021 that being a father has changed him for the better. This is in addition to living a simple life in Cebu during the pandemic.
"Sinubukan ko ang simpleng buhay sa Cebu," he recounted. "Sobrang simpleng buhay. It kind of worked. Nakatulong siya na magpa-humble sa akin." The former child star also said that he sold his car and launched an apparel store and barbershop in the city.
"I know marami rin nakakaranas ng pinagdadaan ko ngayon," he continued. "I learned how to live a simple life. You don’t need a lot to be happy. As long as you have a roof above your head, food on the table, shoes. Even air-conditioning, bonus na lang ‘yan. And good friends are important."
Earlier this month, the actor was caught in another controversy after a video of him and his wife fighting went viral. Evangelista confirmed in a comment on Ogie Diaz's YouTube vlog about their video that the argument stemmed from Geisler's relapse into his alcohol addiction.
